A team registration fee must be paid at the time of your registration. Game payments can be made in advance via bank transfer or in person prior to your match commencing.
Competitions are run on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Kick off times are 6:15pm, 7:00pm, 7:45pm, 8:30pm & 9:15pm.
The competition is played at Dorrien Gardens (3 Lawley Street, West Perth).
The competition is played outdoor on astroturf.
Games are played following the official FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game. Any changes to these rules will be listed below.
The structure and rules of the competition may be altered if deemed necessary in the interests of safety and/or team experience. Captains will be notified should such a change be necessary.
TEAMS
All players must register into a team to be eligible to play.
Once registered, a player is eligible to fill-in for other teams without registering into that team.
A team is to be made up of 6 registered players including the goalkeeper.
A match can begin with a minimum of 4 registered players on field per team.
Teams must mark attendance on the scoresheet prior to the match beginning.
Teams must have matching, numbered uniforms. A 4-week grace period will be applied for new teams joining the competition.
Substitutions are unlimited and rolling, however a player must exit the pitch at the same location their substitute is entering.
A goalkeeper substitute must take place during a break in play, and the referee should be notified.
MATCHES
Matches are scheduled in a 45-minute block.
Matches will be run with a continuous clock, with 2 halves of 20 minutes, 2 minutes for half-time & 2 minutes for warm-up/changeover.
Matches will begin at the scheduled time, with 1 goal awarded to the opposing team if a team is 1 minute late. An additional goal will be awarded per 2 minutes late thereafter.
Matches must be paid for on the night of the match. Any teams with unpaid fees from a previous week will not be permitted to play until all outstanding payments are cleared.
RULES
Each match will be controlled by one referee. The referee has full authority to enforce the FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game & any relevant changes listed below.
Yellow cards result in an immediate 2-minute expulsion from match. The excluded player can not be replaced in this period, with their team playing one person down.
Red cards result in an immediate expulsion for the remainder of the match with further suspensions or bans being at the discretion of competition management. The excluded player can not be replaced for the remainder of the match, with their team playing one person down.
Repeated challenges of the referee’s decisions is a yellow card offence.
Decisions are not required to be validated or explained during a match.
Captains are permitted to approach the referee at half-time and full-time to query decisions or raise concerns. These discussions should not interrupt the changeover between games; any extended conversations should instead be directed to management/the evening duty manager.
Foul language is a yellow card offence in the interests of the social environment & junior sports taking place nearby.
Slide tackling is not permitted except by the goalkeeper inside the goal square. A goalkeeper sliding outside of the box will be treated as an outfield player.
Penalty kicks will be taken from the edge of the box. A single step “run-up” can be taken by the kicker.
A goalkeeper is permitted to throw the ball over the half-way line without bouncing.
The ball must be returned into play within 5 seconds of it being positioned to play.
Kick ins from the side are an indirect free kick and may not be scored.
Corner kicks are a direct free kick and may be scored.
“Last man” fouls deemed not aggressive/dangerous will result in a penalty kick being awarded, even if outside of the box as an alternative to an instant red card. Repeated offences may result in a yellow or red card.
Aggressive/dangerous “last man” fouls will result in a penalty kick as well as an instant red card.
FINALS
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top 4 teams will play-off in a 2-week finals series.
Players need to have played at least 3 games with the team during the regular season to qualify for finals.
Final standings will be determined in the following priority: Points>Goal Difference>Goals Scored>Goals Against>Head-to-Head Results.
Season winners will be promoted into the upper grade where applicable.
